New Life for Old Paint01/11/2010 Return to news archive
B&Q has started to sell recycled paint as part of a trial being run in their Sutton, New Maldon, Bolton and Poole stores! Produced by a British company, New Life Paints, the recycled white emulsion is being labelled and sold as part of B&Q’s own brand Home Eco range.
Initially costing around £19.00 per five litre tin, it is more expensive than virgin paint but the prices may be adjusted in response to sales and it is expected that the trial will last for two to three months before being reviewed.
Eitherway, with New Life Paints, promoting resource efficiency through the recycling/ re-manufacture of surplus paint, this is a real boost to the diversion of paint from being unnecessarily disposed of in the UK.
