The EU has introduced legislation designed to reduce the amount of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) contained in paints, stains and varnishes. From 1 January 2010 paint manufacturers have made major changes to many solvent-based paints and making many of those products that contain VOCs less harmful.
